We are a non-profit community service organization approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) organization. Established in 1959 by the Cosmopolitan Club of Roanoke, we are supported by fees for services, grants, and charitable donations. Contributions to the Roanoke Valley Speech and Hearing Center are deductible for income tax purposes.

For over 50 years, The Roanoke Valley Speech and Hearing Center has been helping people of all ages develop their communication skills so they can better relate to the world around them.

We Specialize in

Audiology

Our Audiologists hold a minimum of a doctoral degree in Audiology, licensure by the state of Virginia, and the Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association. They provide hearing services to individuals of all ages and emphasize protecting and preserving good hearing.

Speech-Language Pathology

Our Speech-Language Pathologists hold a minimum of a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, are licensed by the state of Virginia, and hold the Certification of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. They evaluate, identify, and treat individuals of all ages with communication disorders. Funding from grants provides support for our speech-language pathology program. These funds are allocated to help support those patients/caregivers who are not able to afford speech-language therapy.
